KZN South Coast remains a hidden gem
The KZN South Coast remains one of South Africa’s most underrated tourism and property regions.

With its warm Indian Ocean climate, year-round sunshine, Blue Flag beaches, world-class diving, golf courses, wildlife experiences and relaxed coastal lifestyle, it offers far more value than many better-known coastal destinations.
Affordable property prices
Towns stretching from Amanzimtoti to Port Edward still offer surprisingly affordable property prices, especially for beachfront homes and holiday apartments.
Yet the region sits within driving distance of Durban and has major long-term tourism and retirement potential. Improved roads, semigration trends, remote working and growing interest in lifestyle investment are steadily changing the market.
Untapped tourism potential
The South Coast also has enormous, untapped tourism opportunities in eco-tourism, adventure tourism, marine activities and hospitality developments. Investors willing to look beyond current infrastructure and governance challenges may find some of the best value opportunities in Southern Africa.
The combination of climate, natural beauty, affordability and future growth potential makes the KZN South Coast a region many investors may regret overlooking in years to come.
